Our Process

Light can infuse the simplest of spaces with richness and depth, and has the capacity to transform the atmosphere of a room. For this reason, we want to make sure our designs deliver everything our clients desire, from start to finish, which is why we have developed our Truly Lighting process.

Concept
We want to know everything about the design of the project, so that we can integrate our scheme into it. After all, light is one of the most powerful elements of interior design and shouldn’t be an afterthought. To achieve this, we conduct a detailed meeting with the design team and client to establish the brief, before developing preliminary conceptual lighting studies. The use of mood boards and visuals will be presented to help with the visualisation and to enable us to move the lighting design forward.

Design Development
Once the concept design is approved, we can prepare a suite of visuals based on the Architects and Interior designers CGI’s and sketches which clearly showcase our lighting effects. This is our way of helping the client to visualise what the finished lighting design will look like. Once confirmed the design team are issued with a preliminary design package to integrate into a tender document. This would include drawings, control schedules, luminaire specifications and detailed illustrations.

Construction
This stage is where we really get into the details. We consult with the design team to establish any changes to the tender document and review the final contract documents prepared by the electrical contractor and any other consultants. A detailed lighting package is produced which encompasses the drawings, lighting control schedules and technical luminaire specifications. We also prepare the necessary information to ensure any integrated lighting within joinery or any other specialist lighting features will be delivered to the highest of standards.

Final Setup
During the electrical installation, we will remain in regular contact with the project team to ensure everything is running smoothly regarding our scheme, and that all design details are correctly integrated, and issues rectified that may hinder the design’s full potential. The final stage before we reach completion involves overseeing the focusing of light fittings and programming the lighting scenes to ensure the best possible end result.

Our process provides a framework to progress every project, however we understand that each project is unique and our services can always be adapted to suit your needs.
